Tiverton Pony Club "Well done 2013" This page contains
photos and reports of events that took place in 2013. |
This is the "well done" page for 2013.These were all previously on the home page, but that gets too crowded if they stay there forever, so each spring they get copied to a new "well done" page that forms part of the site archive:

Cotley PC held a triathlon (shoot, swim and run) on
Sunday 10th November and we had 10 entries from Tiverton! For many
of them this was their first attempt at triathlons.
I was very happy to have Katie Heal (only 6 yo) doing the biathlon and making 4th place with her team. Our Tiverton Toffee Apples mini-mini team of Jack Emmett, Withheld and Katie Bainbridge came 9th as a team. In the mini class Serena Mundy did a spectacular job coming 4th individually in a huge class, as well as having the second best run by only 4 seconds. Serena Mundy and Emma Bainbridge were also part of the 4th placed team in their class. Our Junior girls team (Tiverton Ghost Busters) of Withheld, Lydia Hopper and Millie Cridland made the 9th place with their team. All of our competitors did a great job at such a huge event with almost 180 competitors, as each age category was very tough. [Thanks to Josie Moore for this report] |

The team of Withheld, Lucy Clist, Withheld and Charlotte Radley all did nice tests with Charlotte 6th individual and Lucy 8th individual. (Report by Gillian Clist. Click on photo to see full-sized image. If anyone has further photos please email them to me) |
What an amazing day! With the exception of Zara who was always only going to do two phases, everyone came away with a rosette!!
Huge congratulations to Charlotte Radley in particular for winning the Novice outright - a fantastic achievement with Didi 4th, Tabitha 5th and Ellie 6th making up the other individual placings. Charlotte, together with the 2nd place team of Bird, Didi, Tabitha and Ellie qualify for the championships, which is simply brilliant.
The team of Archie, Saskia, Heidi and Charlotte also gave
their all, narrowly missing qualification gaining 4th in the most competitive
Novice class.
Will was 8th and Eleanor 6th in the intermediate, completing
a demanding XC in particular, both deserve significant praise. We look
forward to fielding a team next year in this class.
The open was bravely fought by Tiverton, placed to win after SJ, but being the first team around XC and therefore pathfinders cost them very dear in the final analysis. The TVH "BE pony trial" team were worthy winners with Tiverton the only other team to complete out of the four teams entered receiving a creditable 2nd place.
I was most impressed with the excellent team spirit and genuine desire to do their very best shown by all the riders in spite of disappointment in some cases; for several it was the biggest test they have yet faced.
All the riders were all a credit to the club and I thank you all wholeheartedly. I'm sorry I was not able to be omnipresent, but what I did see everywhere were ambassadors for Tiverton Pony Club and it was a privilege to be part of the day. A huge debt of thanks to Tim Cheffings for keeping the riders focused (and the parents relaxed) throughout the day, as well as expert guidance from Mary Baillie allowing the Novice riders to attack the XC with her wisdom imparted, not to forget Hen Hare who provided obscure bits and pieces to get the riders past the kit inspection at each phase - a true team effort.
Tiverton is off to the Championships! Congratulations.
